Sofia Offshore Wind Farm, Dogger Bank
We are proud to announce our latest project win for the CASC Renewables Team. The Sofia Offshore Wind Farm Project, which is to be mobilised from the Alexandra Dock in Hull. This landmark project will play a pivotal role in installing 1400MW of wind power at Dogger Bank, located in the North Sea, one of the UK’s largest and most ambitious renewable energy initiatives.
As the supplier of choice, CASC has been entrusted with providing the full and comprehensive quayside mobilisation for the Sofia offshore wind turbine pre-assembly project, working in collaboration with one of the world’s largest wind turbine OEM, Siemens Gamesa. This ongoing partnership underscores CASC’s expertise and reputation in the renewable energy sector, particularly in offshore wind turbine projects.
The Sofia Project represents a significant milestone in CASC’s commitment to advancing sustainable energy solutions, as the 1400MW wind farm on Dogger Bank is set to become a cornerstone of the UK’s renewable energy infrastructure, contributing significantly to the nation’s energy security and carbon reduction goals.
SoCASC's Role
CASC’s role in the Sofia Project will involve detailed planning and advanced engineering, in the execution of the electrical, mechanical and civil works required to mobilise this site in preparation for the turbine construction phase. This includes the setup of critical infrastructures and systems necessary to support the efficient assembly and deployment of wind turbine components.
By leveraging our extensive experience, gained from delivering similar projects in ports and harbours across Europe, Asia and North America, along with our innovative approach and capability to design and manufacture custom equipment in-house, at CASC we aim to ensure a completely seamless project execution and delivery ahead of schedule.
The Sofia Wind Farm Project is expected to generate enough electricity to power 1.2 million of homes, significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions and providing a sustainable energy source for future generations. CASC’s involvement in this project highlights their leadership in the renewable energy sector and their ability to handle large-scale, complex projects with precision and efficiency.
Stuart Carson, Project Manager at CASC , has commented “We are thrilled to be selected for the Sofia Project. This project not only highlights our capabilities in delivering high-quality, complex engineering solutions but also reinforces our dedication to supporting the global transition to renewable energy. Our team is excited to return to the Alexandra Dock, bring their expertise and contributing to the success of this project.”
