CASC begin work on South Korea’s first commercial offshore wind farm, JEONNAM 1

At CASC we are honoured to hold a coveted reputation and relationship with leading OEM’s in the renewables industry. This reputation is the main reason why we are one of the first companies to operate in emerging markets in the offshore wind industry.

In April 2024 we began work on JEONNAM 1, a 99-MW offshore wind farm, located off the coast of Shinan County in the southwest of the country. This will become South Korea’s  first commercial-scale offshore wind project. The project will utilize Mokpo New Port as marshalling port throughout construction, given the port’s ideal location near the Jeonnam 1 site.

Jeonnam 2 & 3 – two projects with a total capacity of 800MW – are also moving ahead. In coordination with Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners and SK E&S, the project owners and JV partners. CASC is proud to support our client Siemens Gamesa and help Korea achieve its ambitious targets to reach 14.3 GW of offshore wind power by 2030.

Another full quayside mobilisation including the assembly of major components, electrical infrastructure and manufacturing of ancillary equipment that are all essential for the overall workflow and successful competition of the wind farm.
