What We’re Looking For
At least 2 years’ experience in an engineering, fabrication or manufacturing environment
Previous experience supervising or managing a team of welders, fabricators or similar skilled production employees
Experience of working with production targets, KPIs and performance measures
Good working knowledge of Health & Safety requirements within a manufacturing environment
Strong leadership, communication and people-management skills
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan and prioritise production activities
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to take appropriate action when issues arise
Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing priorities
A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to support the team when required
Job Description
Supervising the day-to-day activities of the welding and fabrication team
Setting clear daily priorities and allocating work to meet production plans and customer deadlines
Training, coaching and supporting team members to achieve high standards
Managing attendance, timekeeping, performance and conduct within the team
Monitoring production progress, resolving bottlenecks and helping to minimise downtime
Taking a hands-on approach and supporting production activities when required
Ensuring materials, equipment and resources are available to keep production running efficiently
Ensuring high standards of quality, safety and compliance are maintained
Monitoring Safety, Quality, Delivery and Productivity performance and using KPIs to drive improvement
Identifying opportunities to improve productivity, quality, workflow and cost efficiency
Working closely with the Production Manager and wider operations team to achieve production targets and customer requirements
